"The Ten Coolest Moments in Final Fantasy"

I didn't really find anything amazing out of FFVI's opera scene, personally. *gets murdered by everyone*

Coolest moment? Hmm. Going by the word 'coolest' rather than 'best', I'd say that there are a few things you could go with that aren't major moments but were just cool. Riding your first chocobo, getting the Highwind, getting the Ragnarok (after using the garden for so long, the Ragnarok is amazing), and of course the introduction of the character that is Cid Highwind.

And while it was all virtual reality or whatever, I have to say that Crisis Core's scene with Sephiroth fighting that annoying poet guy was pretty cool. What else? Sephiroth disappearing into the flames. Rude being Rude. Balthier being Balthier. Shadow being Shadow. Discovering the backstory of Galuf is pretty awesome, too. President Shinra's supposed death in FFVII.

Well, I was never a big fan of the opera. It doesn't help that for some weird reason I always feel sleepy when playing FFVI, even when I'm enjoying it. I think it might be the music.

Most interesting moment for me would probably be discovering the backstory of the characters which have hidden or forgotten their past, such as Cloud or Galuf.

Oh yeah, Galuf vs. Exdeath was pretty badass. And I'm with BoB on the opera scene. I mean, it was very cute, but I don't think it goes up there with all of these other cool scenes.

Just remembered the ending of Crisis Core. Definitely worth at least a solitary mention in this thread, even if it's part of a spinoff game. That was one hell of an ending.

Totally agree with you on this one. Zack basically fought against an army by himself. That's badass.

The ending of Crisis Core is one of my favorite endings in any video game.

I don't know about the coolest, but one of the coolest moments in all of Final Fantasy for me was simply the opening to Final Fantasy VIII. That is a scene I watch quite often.
