Thread: Neochu screeching nightmare.

    Default Neochu screeching nightmare.

So I'm down to the final few missions that I need to complete, and this one seems to baffle me, i don't know if i just need to keep leveling up my characters or what. Neo ochu seems to insta kill me everytime it's screech move comes around. I usually use Lightning/Sazh/Vanille for my battle team, lightning maining com, Sazh maining Syn/Rav, and Vanille maining Rav/Sab/Med. any tips or strategies?

Well... there is a very long drawn out strategy involving getting high levels and leveling up some rare accessories to save against his status attacks and needing to use very specific Paradigm setups, or... you can just spam Death until it dies, which is the easiest and fastest way to deal with him.

I just spammed Death until it worked. I'd say do that and get the CP Egg accessory for double CP, then level up your characters and come back to challenge it again some other time if you want to use a non cheap strategy.

I third spamming Death. Using Snow/Fang/Vanille also helps you survive the longest, though it will still likely require multiple tries.

    i used snow/vanille/hope but yeah
    spam death
you can get a bunch of em in before he screetches
although after that you should still be careful because the little things will eat you alive if you're not careful
    have a sen/rav/rav combo and a sen/med/med
spent an hour spamming him but it's worth it for that egg

Actually, now that you mention it, I think I used Snow/Vanille/Hope, too. I originally used Fang in place of Snow, but Snow is the better Sentinel, and in that fight it makes a difference. The Sen/Med/Med combo is very necessary.

Yeah, I know there was one fight where I just had SEN/MED/SAB and SEN/MED/MED (Snow, Hope, and Vanille) for spamming Death. I think this was the one.

I used two commandos (lightning and fang) with instant chain abilities, along with snow to be a sentinel.. If you're looking to grind this one out a sentinel is needed pretty much at all times. Try making the tortise paradigm (3 sentinels) for the screech attack. If you listen carefully you can hear him screech a bit before he's about to unleash it, and that's when it would be wise to switch to that paradigm to further reduce damage taken by all characters

Vanille as party leader, spam Death until it's over. It is a bit of a lame way to go about it, but it's the fastest and easiest - but may still take a long, long time since Death is a lame spell with a low hit rate. I forget who else to have in the party. Medics and Sentinels, I believe worked the best.

I used the Death trick the first time because I was nowhere near strong enough to do it legitimately. But once you hit endgame and max roles out, you can tackle like any tough foe and it becomes significantly less threatening.

Neochu is a much more reasonable opponent post-game, but the Growth Egg is worth the boring Death-spamming to get earlier.

yeah, the best place to level is the final dungeon
but you still have the level limiters set on you... i maxed my chars out and stocked up cp to maximum for the post game, but i could only level up each char to one or two roles

the growth egg really did help the final dungeon grinding though
