Well, it looks like most of us were too embarrassed by Sephex's score to submit screenshots. That's okay, I was too.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Ice Cap Zone (Both Acts)
Here's the way this will work: You can submit screenshots for either act of Ice Cap Zone, or both. They will be treated separately, so points will be given out for the best time on either zone. So even if you don't have any points yet, you'd have a great chance to catch up now if you snag first place in both of these!
Be sure to get your results in by Monday, April 9.
Rules:
- Only screenshots (or pictures, if you're playing on a console) will be accepted as final scores.
- You can post as many screenshots as you like; your fastest time will be accepted as your final time.
- You may play on any system (original, XBL arcade, Steam, emulator, etc.) so long as it is essentially the original game.
- If the version you are playing lets you choose your character, you are allowed to do so.
- No Super Sonic.
- Honor system: no save state abuse. You may save the very beginning of the level for quick restarts if you wish.
- You ARE allowed to use a level select cheat if you want to skip most of the game and get right down to business with the chosen zone. Here's a list.

Jesus, this will be tough to focus on two zones. But I must say that I loved Sonic 3 the best. Again, we'll see what happens!
Sephex should wait until at least the day before the deadline to submit his screenshots so maybe more people will even try.
Any objections if I extend this challenge for a week? We haven't had any entries yet and since it's a DOUBLE BONUS CHALLENGE giving people an extra week might not be a bad idea!
I would like an extra week, please. I've only had time to work on the first zone. However, I fear that no one else is really playing anymore.

I've been too busy to even attempt my own Sonic competition yet, so another week is fine by me.

I never played Sonic 1 or Sonic 2 actually. But despite that, I used to play Sonic 3 like crazy back in the day. It was my fav game for at least a year or so. It's been a while now, but I might give this a shot too.

Looks like I'm the first to post some results. Played through all the earlier stages as well to get back in decent shape... and for nostalgia reasons.
Getting good times at these stages proved to be harder than I expected, but I got this eventually:
