    Default Your Life, the soundtrack

What would the soundtrack to your life so far (and predicted future events) be like? Pick out the major events in your life and put songs to them. Don't forget to throw in opening credits, closing credits and some general 'good day, bad day' kind of things.

Alternatively, if you want a default set for inspiration (or just for copy/paste laziness), here's one for you.
    Opening Credits:
    Waking Up:
    First Day at School:
    Spending Time with Friends:
    Confrontation with Enemies:
    Good Day:
    Bad Day:

    Losing Virginity:
    Breaking Up:
    RAGE:
    Longing:
    Getting Back Together:
    Party:
    Revenge:
    Graduation:
    Mental Breakdown Montage:
    Getting Your trout Together Montage:
    Moment of Triumph:
    Driving:
    Flashback:
    Proposal:
    Wedding:
    Sunny Holiday:
    Birth of Child:
    Retirement:
    Reflecting on Life:
    Final Battle:
    Death Scene:

These songs are mostly indicative of stuff I was listening to just as much as lyrical content. Little explanations next to each song cause I'm that self absorbed.

Early Life (parents still together): Ian Gillan - Sweet Lolita - YouTube (rofl, i haven't actually listened to this in forever, but I'm told it was the first song anyone ever noticed me drumming along to. Pretty big deal)
Early life (parents split): The Lion King - Hakuna Matata (HD) - YouTube (every day after school, seriously)
Early primary school (Grades 1-5): Five - Got The Feelin' - YouTube (this is a good summation of the absolute troute I was listening to around this time)
Mum getting re-married: Linkin Park - One Step Closer (Video) - YouTube (this song had just come out and I suppose I thought it was good. It also sounds angry, which I was)
6th grade (worst town I ever lived in): Eminem - Kim (HQ] - YouTube (I had this album on repeat almost, I was a pretty smurfed up kid)
7th Grade (got out of the aforementioned town): System Of A Down - Chop Suey! - YouTube (FINALLY started listening to decent music)
8th Grade: Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name - YouTube (more good music, and if you take it out of the political context the end is pretty relevant to how I was at the time)
9th Grade: Korn- Good God - YouTube (worst year of school for me, this is pretty much how I felt about everyone I went to school with, even the people I considered friends (they totally weren't). The last minute or so of this song still makes me smile though, so awesome xD)
10th Grade: A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras - YouTube (A better year than the last, I was less angry and more depressed generally. This song still makes me emotional and reminds me of then)
Senior high school: Tool The Grudge - YouTube (I was basically the guy this song is about, it sickens me how argumentative and abrasive I used to be back then. Tool was basically all I listened to for about 3 years as well)
First Love: 10. Brena - A Perfect Circle - YouTube (ugh)
Exams: Nirvana - In Bloom - YouTube (smurf knows what he's singing about, but Nirvana's attitude encompasses my feelings toward exams and furthering my education)
Remember that first love from before?: Incubus Blood on the ground - YouTube (bitch)
Moving in to a house with my best friend: Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It - YouTube (this speaks for itself)
Work: Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (Full Album) - YouTube (life's a bummer when you're a hummer)
Trip to USA: Periphery - Ragnarok - YouTube & Outkast i like the way you move - YouTube (both were two of about 6 songs that remained in my playlist the entire time I was there)
Tara: Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (Full Album) - YouTube (cheesy, but I was listening to this album a lot especially when I got back from USA and now this song always reminds me of her)
Life in general at the moment: Incubus - Drive - YouTube

Maybe I'll fill in more if I think of any.

Huh, I didn't expect I'd like more than maybe one or two songs in your list. It's closer to about half at least, I think...

It's not really a good example of my music tastes now, but I listened to all of those songs quite a bit at some point in my life.

Man, there are so insanely few songs/artists that I listened to as a kid that I wouldn't/don't still happily listen to today. =x I've just added more songs in as I've grown rather than replacing them.

Also, I don't care what you say, Got The Feelin' is a great song. xD I'm sure I still have an mp3 somewhere of Dan and me singing a 5ive song and it might be that.

I still like all the songs on that list besides 5ive and Linkin Park, I just don't listen to them is all.

And no, it most definitely is not a good song. It is a terrible song that you only get away with listening to when you are under the age of 10.

When I'm drunk, I'm always under the age of 10. In fact, often when I'm sober...

I actually created a playlist for this very purpose some time ago. I hadn't updated it in a while, but I just now added some songs representing the last three years.

Most songs I could only find links to live performances or music videos (official or otherwise). The former won't be quite the exact same version as the one I listen to; the latter, well, just ignore the video, as I'm only here for the music. Some songs mean, to me, things quite different (or even completely opposite!) to what they meant to the songwriters.

    Part 1: My childhood
    1. "This Town is Wrong", Nerissa & Katryna Nields
    2. "Go On", Ookla the Mok
    3. "Half Jack", The Dresden Dolls
    4. "Torn", Natalie Imbruglia
Part 2: Meeting my Wife, Making Aliya, Discovering Personal Pride
    5. "All Because of You", Blackmore's Night
    6. "Blastoff Monkey", Ookla the Mok (I couldn't find a link to this one)
    7. "You Get What You Give", New Radicals
Part 3: Wedding, Marriage, Lousy Jobs
    8. "Winter Wish", Love Hina
    9. "I'm Your Moon", Jonathan Coulton
    10. "Code Monkey", Jonathan Coulton
Part 4: Birth of My Children, Things Looking Down, Things Looking Up
    11. "Shiawase no Iro", Ishida Yoko
    12. "Hinageshi no Hana no you ni", Kajiura Yuki
    13. "Mou Hitotsu no Happy Ending", Kajiura Yuki
    14. "Everything I Need", Melissa Ferrick

    Some liner notes
    • Based on the fact that no less than four songs have that origin, one might be surprised to discover that I'm not a fan of anime (except Death Note). A year before I got married, a friend who was an obsessive fan of Love Hina sent me about a hundred songs from the series, and I very quickly became enamored with several of them - particularly "Winter Wish", whose lyrics I rewrote in Hebrew to describe how I met and got engaged to my wife, and which I sang to her at our wedding. My wife, too, is a big fan of anime, and I got songs 11-13 from her.
    • I was shocked but not surprised at the music video for "You Get What You Give". Typical youth counterculture bulltrout. The song means something very different to me.
    • "Torn" was a song that I identified very strongly with a character I played in an online RPG shortly before I met my wife. The song, however, now not only represents that character but by association calls to mind all the characters I played during an aimless period of several years in which I did nothing but play RPGs and had no idea what I was planning on doing with my life.
    • "I'm Your Moon" represents my wife's ability to understand me in ways none of my blood relatives ever could - which is, of course, why I married her.
    • "Making aliya" means "moving to Israel permanently". So why didn't I say "moving to Israel"? Because I moved to Israel, then met my wife, and only then made aliya, and I want to keep my songs in approximate chronological order.

I hope you don't mind me saying this, I realize it may come off as a little weird, but can I just stop by and say that I really want to take part in this thread because I have a very deep appreciation of not only music, but also music being used as a soundtrack. It means a lot to me to be able to write my own soundtrack, but it will take a lot of thinking because I want it to be meaningfull.

I will be in Spain soon, and will return on the 7th of July, would anyone mind if I reply to this late? It means a lot to me that I don't miss out.
