Do you often play multiplayer with actual people in your house, as opposed to over the internet?
I've been doing some of this today. Some fighting games, some Earth Defense Force, and then hotseat Civ IV

Hotseat Civ IV is great except for the fact Montezuma is a mothersmurfer
Few beers + Tiger woods = best in person multiplayer game hands down, it's a hilariously good time.
But yeah I do it fairly often, usually Tiger Woods, FIFA or random fighting games. When I was at Uni and my bro Az still lived down the road from me though especially we used to do it a lot, either just random PS3/360 games or I'd take my laptop down to his house and we'd play C&C red alert, Age of Mythologies or X-Men Legends or something. Actually now that I think about it we did a lot of pass and play on his PC as well, specifically all the Megaman X games and then a couple of random things like The Last Remnant or trout like that. Was good times.
I like it but I rarely do it. The only person besides me who is ever in my apartment is my husband, and he doesn't really play games. Just flight simulators and a bit of Wii Sports occasionally. Sometimes I can convince him to play a bit of something casual with me, like Rhythm Heaven Fever, but he has this mental barrier that prevents him from just picking up and playing a game that uses buttons. Except flight simulators, which are complicated, but THOSE he can learn to play right away. >_>
This is the only way I play multiplayer.
This post brought to you by the power of boobs. Dear lord them boobs. Amen
is hotseat civ 4 one of you sitting on the others lap while the other tries to play civ 4
I usually hate doing that, but I had a party last year where we played Kinectx or whatever it's called.
I also like lan parties with friends. we bust out the Half Life 1 (because everybody can run it) and starcraft 1
I much prefer multiplayer with real people over people I don't know online. The next best thing to me is playing with people online that I DO know, but otherwise, I don't really feel like listening to some kid who can't even drive yell racist things at me claiming he knows my mother better than my father does.
Anyway, I still haven't experienced any real life multiplayer action as fun as the N64 brought to the table back in the day. Good times, man.
I tend to like competitive multiplayer games in theory, but I'm not really playing much Starcraft II on the ladder these days because my race is only good if your skill level is obscenely high and I haven't played much League of Legends recently because the community is obnoxious. My friends generally don't want to play me in games since I tend to be or get better than them within a short amount of time.
So, like multiplayer with others, don't often get the chance.
I prefer me a good co-op multi-player with some friends. About the only competitive I do is Fighting games, but I don't do to much online, mostly just with friends still.
Ideally it would be with a system link or split screen, but since some friends are in other states, online works fine for that.
Yes, this is surely the reason. My friends generally don't want to play me in games since I tend to be or get better than them within a short amount of time.
