To everybody saying Poland will win anything: pffft!

All I know is that these matches are seriously going to make life here in Poznań harder.

Prepare to laugh at these predictions for the latter stages then.

    Poland v Netherlands
    Italy v Sweden
    Germany v Russia
    France v Spain

    Poland v Italy
    Germany v France

    Italy v Germany (Italy win)

    It's 1982 all over again.

    TOOT TOOT

    PANIC OVER BOYS

    HERE COMES JORDAN HENDERSON

    ENGLAND'S NUMBER 8

(Henderson was not awful in the 3-4 games he played in his actual position, CM. Is horrendous as a RM though yes)

Oh my smurfing God. What is he thinking?

I may be biased but I really can't understand why Michael Carrick isn't getting a look in. I'm almost certain now we'll be making a swift exit from this tournament.

You're not biased because I would put Carrick in the first XI over the likes of Barry and Lampard anyway. But little Mikey was too precious and refused to go unless it could be guaranteed he was a starter.

Alright, I've slept off the hangover after emptying the drinks cabinet last night (it didn't turn out to be one very twisted nightmare), and am back to give some friendly entirely non-partisan thoughts on Euro 2012 ie England. I invite you all to mercilessly quote this post come the end of the tournament in a likely successful attempt in proving I know nothing about football.

I wouldn't back them to get out the groups. I didn't have a great feeling at first but with Lampard out - I never thought I'd say this - that's a blow, especially when the replacement is Jordan Henderson. England now have the quite likely situation that their starting XI will include Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Glen Johnson. Liverpool's four worst players (shut up Psybeans, Andy Carroll is useless). It's going to be hoofball. I know it's all 'WE HAVE LOW EXPECTATIONS LOL', but for me, getting to the second round will be the biggest task, after that it's a lottery, so who knows.

It could work in England's favour that the first game is versus France - their toughest opposition - as opening games are usually quite defensive, and I could see them getting murdered out there if it was the third game. I might have a cheeky fiver on Ukraine and France going up (in that order) at 14/1, home nations usually do quite well and it's a pretty even group.

I think France are dark horses to win it, and might even back the filthy Portuguese to get to the final. I think the Germans are probably the most likely candidates though. Croatia may go far.

imagine a speck of dirt underneath andy carroll's fingernails

    that speck is danny graham.

Along with Big Andy, Glen Johnson is not one of Liverpool's four worst players - have you never heard of Charlie Adam? Johnson has actually been relatively decent this season - Liverpool's defence has not been the problem.

Speaking on behalf of the Dutch I don't think our odds are looking too favorable with Germany, Portugal and underdog Denmark in our group. Anything can happen!

Six Liverpool players in the England squad! Ahhhh you're all going to know the pain I have felt this season Having said that, Martin Kelly is one of the better English players we have, and arguably a better RB than Glen Johnson anyway.

Before anyone says it, Micah Richards and Michael Carrick both refused to be on the stand-by list, so

(Rio Ferdinand, though, can just lick my balls)

More like Micah Richards didn't want to be in the squad with John Terry. I can just about buy one player refusing to be on standby, but two?

Come on Roy, surely you can find a place for Jay Spearing and John Flanigan too? Just go all in Liverpool.

    Take care all.

Surely he's banking on he fact that Liverpool coming 8th means that they're more likely to scrape into the last eight if he uses all their players.

If that's the case, Roy is crazy like a fox... and don't call me Shirley.

    (sorry, had to do it).

    Take care all.
