Question Final Fantasy VII for the PC and Windows 7 compatibility

Does the game work in Windows 7?

What kind of music options does the game have?

Can't say for sure, but I bet it does. You might have to fiddle with it, change some compatibility settings, or maybe there's a patch, but my money would say it works.

On Windows 7 Premium, you are given the exclusive ability to unearth the hidden FLAC versions of the entire soundtrack, providing you with a most pristine and grandiose auditory experience. Perhaps the best you'll ever have the pleasure of being graced by in a Final Fantasy VII game.

Even if it didn't, compatibility mode solves everything.

Development of FLAC was started in the year 2000, 2 years after the game was released for the PC.

My version is torrented and it was a smurfing bitch to set up. It required a number of extra things plus some changes, but it most certainly does work on Windows 7.

Has anyone used a gamepad with the PC version?

No, but off the top of my head I would assume it can be done. Most PC games have configurations for that sort of thing. I don't see why this would be any different.

Bulltrout aside, yes, I have, and it was many years ago when I had a Pentium II and a Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad.

Most PC games didn't support gamepads until they started making versions of the games for the Xbox 360. There's no reason for that other than making the games cheaper to develop.

That is not even sort of true. I was using gamepads and joysticks on PC games in like 1995ish when I first started playing them.

And not developing for a gamepad means you can get lazy making up a control scheme and instead make the player memorise thirty hotkeys. But yes you can, I played this game with a PSX controller USB adapter.

I suggest waiting for it to come out on Steam. That'll probably work.

*already has FFVII on the pc* yes, you can use a game pad on it, just have to go into the game options and edit the pad to reflect what control setup you want, its also very handy as you (or I) can use the stick to run about with (as apposed to the D-Pad) but I still map the D-Pad in aswell as it makes thumbing through the menu a little easier.
