Seemed natural to me the second I picked it up. Except for the d-pad. That d-pad was too small.

Not to mention located in the worst possible spot on the controller.

I don't know, I thought the controller was comfortable enough, but it could have been a bit bigger for my hands, the C-stick needed a larger surface area for the thumb, and I was never crazy about the face buttons. It wasn't terrible for most games, but it wasn't as easy to move between them all with minimal thumb movement as it is on other controllers. Not a bad controller by any stretch (save the D-pad) but I'm not as head over heels for it as a lot of people.

Actually, yeah, that too. However, I managed to play through every Mega Man game in the Mega Man Collection with it. Looking back, I don't know how I managed that one.

The gamecube was actually the most comfortable controller I ever held.

I usually only get one console per generation, and for that one I went with PS2 over GC.

Same here and while I've ran with Sony the last three times I always buy the Nintendo console sooner or later. The GameCube I actually got exclusively for the GBA Player and got a lot of great use out of it. I also borrowed the Mega Man Collection (which I loved) and Twin Snakes (which I hated).

Although I don't own it, my favorite would definitely be Melee. I prefer the original immensely, but I can't deny how many hundreds of hours I had a blast playing that game. I, too, didn't have a problem with the controller. Admittedly, it looks like someone took hallucinogens and then tried to make a Dual Shock, but oddly enough it works. Game for a significant amount of time and your hand is supposed to hurt, it always happens to me whenever I use the dual shock/mouse/360 controller for extended period of time.

Man, how could I forget about that attachment? I got great use out of it! I even have the cable that lets you use your GBASP as a controller. When I was laid off back in 2009, I blasted through FFVI mainly playing on my TV. Good times.

Yes, that device was awesome too. I liked to mess with the colors and make the them look rancid. I never owned one of those, but I borrowed one for a pretty decent amount of time. GBA Player lets you do that too, but still.

Ha, I just remember when edczxcvbnm played through Metroid II in one sitting using the Super Game Boy one night when we were late teenagers. Uh...that's my story for that one.

I find the handles of the Dual Shock controllers follow the way my palms naturally rest much better since they go out more. The fact that they're bigger also makes it more comfortable since it just fits my closed hand position much better. In fact, the slight size increase with the Dual Shock 3 actually felt even better to me than the first two iterations or the sixaxis. The only other controllers I've used extensively that really filled my hands as well were the N64 controller and the Dreamcast controller. But the former was stupidly designed for a number of reasons (namely the assumption that I have 3 hands leaving 1/3 of the controller useless), and the latter still curved in on itself and had one analog stick. Seriously, handles that curve in is a pretty big pet peeve of mine because it forces me to either hold the controller completely with my fingers or place my wrists in an unnatural position to be able to close my hand around it. And I find the Gamecube controller right on the border. It doesn't curve back in on itself, but the handles don't quite go out to the sides enough, and they could be thicker.

I up and bought a Gamecube so I could play Tales of Symphonia and whatever Fire Emblem game it was.
