Samuraid

Samuraid is one of the unsung heroes of EoFF. He doesn't have a staff title (it says Former Staff but he really is current staff), and he doesn't talk a big game like many of the other admins. But when it comes to technical know-how, he is our go-to guy. Any time there is a problem with the site or forums we can go to him and he will run diagnostics, perform tests, and make fixes while the rest of us scratch our heads.

Recently, the EoFF server turned into a big pile of steaming dung. Samuraid was the one who performed the necessary tests to determine the problem, found a better and faster server at an affordable price, and even took the lead in making the transfer itself to ensure EoFF didn't crumble during the process. If it weren't for him we'd still be seeing 5 minute load times for each thread and the Ciddies probably wouldn't have happened at all. And even now he is helping to put procedures in place that ensure we handle this issue with greater speed should it happen again in the future.

He's also a pretty awesome guy and I've never heard him complain about doing a job here which would probably cost the owners a bundle in the corporate world. Thank you for your hard work SamuDan!

Oh man, Pike is crazy awesome. She's all doing stuff, and doing things. Particularly the every-things, which she is heavily involved with. She updates Twitter, she updates Facebook, she's very involved in the forums leadership and she comes up with fantastic ideas. She's also rumoured to have single-handedly created Award Bot, the latest in Ciddies technology! Personally speaking, I can't think of anyone who deserves the forums highwind award more. There are a lot of hard workers on staff but in this case Pike has risen above the rest with apparent ease and long may her work continue. Because if she doesn't do it, that's a crapload of stuff that has to picked up by the rest of us and quite frankly, I don't think we'd manage that social networking stuff nearly as well!
