I-War and I-War 2 are older games, but very good.
If you've got a PS1 the Colony Wars series is smurfing golden, especially the first two.

I have a 6 year old low graphics card. I can't run too many of the newer things. I've heard of the X series? not anything about them just that they are good space games. Anyone know anything about those ones?

I really want endless space but I really don't think I can run it. I really want it since i've looked at it

My other suggestion would be the original SNES Star Fox or Star Fox 64, as some has already mentioned.

Yeah you're not going to get very far trying to play X3 on anything less than a supercomputer, it's pretty good but terribly optimized and will melt your computer. Don't know about X1 or X2 though.

In that case I reiterate the I-War games.

First one's more linear and tight, but they hadn't quite refined everything yet, whereas the second one does better in the general gameplay regard. They're old now so your computer won't be a problem!

How does your graphics card even work anymore? The last time I had a graphics card that didn't beat that was a GeForce 2. I don't understand...

But I will agree with Starfox 64 being mentioned. Owning an N64 and not having a copy of that game is sacrilege. If I didn't like you I'd be demanding your death for such a slight.
