One time I kept bananas out and a whole bunch of fruit flies appeared the next day. Lately we've been getting dookie flies too, because of the pottery we recently planted. They must have laid eggs in fresh dirt. The worse are those beetles that smell really bad and make annoying buzzing noises. They seem to appear every season.
