What's your favorite 80s action movie?

I remember when I was dating this girl when I was in high school, we went on a double date with my friend and his date to see "Live Free or Die Hard". My girlfriend at the time was chewing Big Red and it made her breath smell horrible, and all she wanted to do was make out and talk directly into my face.

The movie itself was hilarious. YOUNG REBEL HACKER MEETS TRADITIONAL BRUTE COP, BUT THINGS GET BIGGER WHEN THEY FIND OUT THEY HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER IN AN UNLIKELY ALLIANCE AND DESTROY A GREATER EVIL. ALSO INCLUDING A FEMALE NINJA ANTAGONIST FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF HAVING A HOT BITCH NINJA. AND WHEN IT'S ALL OVER THE BRAVE AND NEWFOUND HEROIC COMPUTER HACKER FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE COP'S DAUGHTER AND HE'S LIKE WHAAAAAT

My favourite has to be Aliens. It's not just a hugely enjoyable and memorable movie it also has a level of craftsmenship that was above other action movies at the time. It was nominated for 7 Academy awards and managed to win 2 which says a lot.

That's not to say there aren't other 80's action movies I love. There's Robocop, The Running Man, Mad Max 2 and of course The Terminator.

Alien was released in the USA on May 25th 1979... seems we were both off by a few years but I at least was certain on the decade
