You can easily add flavor to rice. Just cook it in any kind of stock. (Chicken, beef, vegetable, fish, shrimp are some examples) Or add a little saffron for yellow rice. Rice is great because it's so plain it can take on the flavor of whatever you want it to.

I dislike pineapple and mushrooms because I can't stand their texture.

I also don't like peanut butter and pickles.
