The internet on the whole has told me this is a bad game. The internet is never wrong, right?

It's.like FF 13! If you are expecting it to be great you won't like it cause your expectations won't be met. But same with da2 if you expect it to be an okay game then no expectations are crushed.
That doesn't make it any less troutty!
It's not troutty! It's just not as good as it.could be.
i would rather hit myself in the dick with a hammer than play FF13
Eh, I'll still give it a shot. I'll rent it or borrow it rather than paying for it though.
Sure. I can do that.
I thoroughly enjoy the characters, story, and MaleHawkexFenris is OMGHAWTSEXX, but otherwise, the game is a shallow, pointless, shell of what Bioware's greatness used to be.
Which begs the question, why can't once-great RPG companies like Square Enix or Bioware make actual RPG's anymore? It seems like all we get are half-hearted RPG-hybrids that feels light on actual constructive or entertaining RPG gameplay and narrative. Sigh. I really hope this current state of the gaming indsutry is a fad, or else I'll probably be sorely disappointed.
The answer to that is, EA
Dragon Age II is actually pretty good I think. But I don't think you'd like it, Jowy. If you plan on playing DA3 and don't want to miss anything, then I'd recommend you finish up act 1 and zip through the next two acts (they aren't as long if you're only doing mandatory quests). Also I think it's safe to guess that any sidquest to do with mages and templars will be relevant to events in DA3 so maybe check those out too.
