Eyeson Plays Final Fantasy X

The events committee has decided to bring back Eyeson Plays for the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy. The first of many popular titles, Final Fantasy X will be the first greatest hits we play. Join Vivi22, Jiro, and myself in the grand adventure!

If you haven't played Final fantasy X or haven't in a long time this is the perfect opportunity to do so! You'll be able to join the rest of us as we make our trek through this fine game one more time. All you have to do is join in on our discussions and activities! If you don't feel up to replaying it you don't have to but you can always join in with the talks at least.

Now not only can you just play it but you can join in on some of the challenges as well! Now, we wont be fickle about this and require lots of screenshots but if you'd like to provide some, feel free. Otherwise, we'll take your word for it.

Challenges:

• Win your First game of Blitzball
• Get all the Aeons
• Get all the Ultimate Weapons
• Get all the Al Bhed Primers
• Complete the game
• Learn all of Khimari's Blue Magic
• Do the monster arena Side quest
• Defeat the Dark Aeons (if you have that edition)
• Get the Sun (tidus) sigil
• Get the Venus (Lulu) sigil
• No sphere grid!

If you have the funniest recap of your playthrough we'll give you a cookie. Or if you complete the most task with evidence of your accomplishment, You just might win the title of "FFX Master" to sit under your username. Hopefully you'll join us for this adventure!


You'll have till the end of sept. We're giving it an extra weekish since various events are also going on right now.

I am totally after that title people. But I work full time so hopefully other people are going to try for it too so I'm not alone. Honestly, there are probably lot's of FFX experts around so I fully expect to get trounced on this one.

EDIT: I'm debating whether to solo character it though. I feel like getting Kimahri's blue magic is probably easier/faster to do but if I want to solo a character, I'm pretty sure the last character I'd want to use would be Kimahri with his limited early sphere grid.

Double edit: cutscenes do not play smoothly for me in PCSX2. I may need to rip the ISO to see if that cuts down on the problem.

I thought it was piracy we don't support? I'm running my original disc copy of FFX through my PC because it's actually more convenient than using my PS2 right now.

I forgot how much I love the battle system in this game. Makes me use a bit more strategy than normal.

I am tempted to do this, but I have a lot on my plate these days. I think I'll enjoy keeping up with this thread instead!

Well, another part of my problem is that I don't use an emulator, so any screen shots will be difficult to procure and look like crap! Granted, I wouldn't take on most of the challenges. I would do a fairly basic playthrough, but still.

My computer's hardware is too old to pull off PS2 emulation, so I've been playing on my PS2. To be honest, FFX doesn't look that bad on an HDTV. Nowhere near as terrible as FFXII does, at least.

I wish this thread would have been made earlier. I started a new game a few days ago and I'm already at Mt. Gagazet. I've been using the Sphere Grid, and I lost my first game of Blitzball.

I'm tempted to start another file and try this even still.

I also have anew theory. I believe the Luca Goers Slept their way to the top. On the ship from kilika to luca Balgerda says "My you're kinda cute, too. Wann have some fun?" Then Doram says "Hey, that boy in the aurochs is a cutie." What sluts!
