I am the opposite of a Puritan, and I think the American shame of nudity is pretty ridiculous, but I must also agree (mostly) with Bleys. That is a reality we live in, and kids and working people do browse these forums.

However, and most of you have no idea how ironic this is coming from me, I also disagree with the auto-permaban for pornography rule of old, and to their credit I think the staff is moving away from that as well. I agree with Sephex that other factors, such as the reason for the image being posted, is a relevant consideration, which is an issue Sephex seemed to hint at. People have spammed porn here at EoFF as a "smurf you" to try to get banned, and in that case it is certainly warranted. But linking/posting something pornographic as an accident or inappropriate joke, and the staff actually believes the person (hell, maybe the person had made 10,000 perfectly fine posts over the years)? I think there should be room for lighter discipline. Permaban should be a punishment, not the only considered punishment.
