As a white male, your oppinion doesn't count. I believe Merc wants to "blackmale" the game industry. :semicolonpee:

Seriously, though i like the games available with fem-centric player characters, I would really really like more.

My favorites are Tomb Raider, Kameo, Heavenly Blade, and X-Blades (wasn't horrible). Technially Okami's wolf character is a femlse but it's also white. lol

Someone's been watching/reading Tomorrow, The Day After The War Began a little too much if you ask me!

I'm going to name Shenmue here, I'll also point out that in games such as Dragon Age, Never Winter Nights, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls so forth colour is irrelevant as it can be chosen by the player.

Games in which the player character can't be seen/heard or games in which the player chooses the character's race/gender don't count.

Why? Because you never get a true sense of who the character could really be as an individual. No matter what race/gender you choose, you're destined to walk the same path and speak the same dialogue (minus experimenting to reach branching paths, but those are still the same actions and same dialogue no matter your race/gender). A designer having the sense to decide a character's race/gender before the game finishes development means more consideration went into that character's characterization/what makes he/she an individual set apart from the rest of the NPC-schlubs in the game or even apart from the characters of other games. Without that consideration, the character is just a mindless clone with no real role to play save to serve as a host to a player who may or may not really care about the events taking place in the game. So, then, what was the point of writing a backstory, a continuing story, a plot? What was the point of creating a world?
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

Never read Tomorrow, When the War Began or the rest of the series but I did watch the movie. It's been a prevailing fear in white-Australians since the Chinese flocked to Australia during the Gold Rush.

To take this further off topic here, I know that it's part one of like a series but I've never heard if they're making the rest of the books in to films. It'd be silly not to since the first book/movie adaptation ends on a clear cliff hanger.

The film was moderately successful but I don't think there's been any progress on making the follow-ups. I'm not sure why. It's really disappointing. I liked what was going on, Australian filmmaking doesn't usually have that much success.

The main character of the next KH trilogy should be a black girl, lol.
