So, in 6 weeks I have the chance to meet a super awesome Australian and getting off work is super hard. Should I just call in/try to change my schedule around? I am also taking off at New Year's for a visit from an awesome British lad!

It is my firm belief that if someone flies half way around the world and offers to meet with you then you should try and go out of your way to meet with them. I mean jesus smurf at least you don't have to fly around the world yourself, right?!

Precisely! Obviously there are some situations that are too extreme to get out of, but I think that if it will require only somewhat minimal effort on your part then you should do it considering the other person has gone so far! When are you likely to get chances like this? You have to take them when they're there!
