I've seen both of these. (I am currently watching Avatar the movie so I have an outlet for all of my pent up rage.)
Better off Ted and Arrested Development.
Archer, Breaking Bad, Firefly, Doctor Who, Arrested Development, Wilfred, Freaks & Geeks, and Sherlock.

Seconding all of these. (Thirding, in the case of Doctor Who and Arrested Development).
Make sure you watch at least the first two series of Doctor Who before you start Torchwood. I can't remember if the latter gives away any plot developments for the former but it probably won't make much sense unless you're already familiar with the Whoniverse anyway.
I can't remember what else is on Netflix but I'll go through my list of favourite shows later and look.
