Feel My Blade, I just love it!
Melodies Of Life, easily. Though I love the whole soundtrack...I've got all four CDs on my iPhone-that-has-no-cell-service, so I can just listen to it in my car or when I'm at work.
Definitely my favorite Final Fantasy soundtrack, overall.

Melodies of Life, Kuja's theme is really good and I played it for my piano teacher, You're Not Alone, Iifa Tree. Ooo I just thought of an underrated one: the one where you're Zidane dressed as a soldier at the beginning of the game in the castle, part of the song sounds like Cid's theme from FF7 in major key like when the rocket launches. That's cool how Uematsu does that. Oh and Alexandria's new theme (not the first one ugh that one's boring lol) when Zidane cries out for Garnet. Very memorable. And finally that guess who thread reminded me of the music in Esto Gaza. It's always sounded eerily familiar to me but I can't think of what it reminds me of. Maybe a song from Mario is Missing? Not sure.

Pretty much all of them. For the sake of the thread, however, I'll say The Place I'll Retun to Someday. There aren't words to describe how I feel every time I boot up the game and that track comes on. I literally don't know how to describe it.

Loss of Me, The Place I'll Return to Someday, Gizmaluke's Grotto, Cleyra Settlement, Melodies of Life, You're Not Alone, Alexandria Theme, The Dark Messenger, I could go on and on.
What made this soundtrack stand out to series is how atmospheric it is. It is just perfect in mood and tone. It's passionately moving at times while at others its whimsical, even playful. It runs the gamut in so many styles and genres and yet it always works.
Wait, it's possible to pick a favourite from IX's soundtrack? O.o
It doesn't just work, Laddy. It excels.
Hunter's Chance! I really like that part of the game a lot.
Definitely, I've got it on my Ipod. I love the track, very melancholic.

It's nearly impossible to choose just one piece... But I'd say Protecting My Devotion/Loss Of Me.
Something about the piece is just so powerful, so moving. Obviously the mood of the music changes depending on which version of it you listen to, but both of them are just beautiful. One of few video game themes that can almost reduce me to tears.
This game by far has the best OST. Not just of any FF game, but I'm tempted to say of any game ever.
