Anyone else see this movie yet? Really well done, probably one of the better horror movies I've seen in a while!

Hmmm. I have doubts about this because it looks very typically "modern horror" (ie, trout) to me. Without giving away the plot, what did you like about it?
I got free tickets to see Paranormal Activity 4, but it was so bad that my friend and snuck out to see Sinister instead. It was much scarier. The ending definitely caught me by surprise. I didn't like the creepy kids doing that cheesy "shhh" thing the whole time, but other then that I was quite taken aback by the film. Very chilling and good to see Ethan Hawke finally doing something with his life.
Awesome movie I thought. It leaves you feeling very unsettled the entire time and didn't rely on 'jump scares' for the entire film. Ethan Hawke was awesome as well, best thing I've seen him in since Training Day.
The main character sits around in the dark I'd say 75% of the film for one, making you very unsettled. Nikki and I were the only people in the theater and it was smurfingly ridiculous. The scares were genuinely terrifying and the storyline was only slightly 'new' horror, it has the feel of one of the old mystery horror films until the halfway point.
I feel like I watched a different film than you guys, but I thought it was diabolically poor. It started out really good and as Criminologist, I found the basis and story of the film really interesting, but I thought the film relied on cheap scare techniques which are guaranteed to make anybody jump. After the film was finished, the friend who took me to see it apologised for taking me to such a bad film.
