Anniversary Mafia Discussion Thread

Happy Anniversary!

In celebration of our great series, Eyes on Final Fantasy will be holding a Final Fantasy themed Mafia game: this one! Two games were planned, but I'm putting aside that idea to have one epic game.

And epic is the key word.

Do you remember Mindsmurf Mafia? This game will be like that, but worse. Nothing is as it seems. There will be no Goons and no Vanilla Townies. There will be a lot of mystery, excitement and fun.

Players both new and old should definitely take part in this milestone event, for it will be one to remember!

There are 25 positions, in celebration of Final Fantasy's 25th Anniversary. You can sign up in thread, or Mognet Message me your anonymous sign up.

If you're not familiar with the game, then post saying so! While sign ups are under way, I will - with or without the aid of other players - give you some crash course coaching to get you up to scratch. The best way to learn is by doing, however, so get involved and you'll fall in love.

Here are some basic rules, courtesy of a long list of people:

• All Mafia related discussion must happen in the Official Game Thread. Exceptions to this will be explicitly stated in Role Mognet Messages; if yours doesn't mention it, don't do it! Refrain from using external sources such as IRC, Mognet Messages, instant messages, facebook, phone, text, snail mail, etc. to communicate with other players (unless otherwise stated). This can and will result in a modkill. If you're unsure, message the host (me) and queries will be answered.

• Do not reveal your role or alignment to players outside of the game thread. Simply a reiteration of the first rule; breaking this ruins the fun for everyone. Don't be a funkiller.

• Play nice. Even if you are using second accounts, don't resort to flaming and whatnot. Kill each other without resorting to being mean. The rules of Eyes on Final Fantasy are still enforced.

• Use your Mafia accounts to post, not your personal accounts. This eliminates confusion.

• Play fair. Also known as the "don't be an ass" rule. This includes cheating, diverging completely from your role, deleting or editing your posts, illegally finding out other players' information, etc. Hosts reserve the right to replace or modkill any player if unfair methods are being used.

• Do not post in any non-Mafia related threads with your Mafia account.

• You cannot abstain from voting! Non-voters will have their vote counted against them.

Regarding roles and accounts:
• All of the roles were assigned randomly to a character and then those were randomly assigned to a player.

• Don't roleplay. Or do. I don't mind. Some people find it annoying. Play your character however you wish. No penalties will be imposed for anybody that does roleplay. Just have fun!

• Don’t share with others who you are or what your password is or what your role is. This makes it lose its fun-ness. Think for yourselves guys! You don’t need anyone else. (Obviously not valid for shared accounts)[*]If you pull a Pyromaniak and hijack accounts that don't belong to you, you will be banned and forever known as a complete jackass.
