Well, I just noticed that most of the people who actually need them in order to participate in the Firaga tournament have way too little gil anyway. Oh well.
*is playing 4 unfinished matches against people, and still have enough level 7 cards to make a "5 of one" deck with pretty much every level 7 card, after all this trading*
I bought a set so I'll compete in Firaga if we can't find a couple more people.
Hmmm, I think I really could have upped the prices a bit, since the two who bought the sets so far are basically gillionaires anyway.
My attempt at making more people participate in the Firaga tournament basically just resulted in me giving my eventual opponents a greater set of options. Great.
I only had like a bit more than 300 and if both were at 150 gil i could have afforded both of them
everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
Well now that means you have to join Firaga too.
Shauna told me she was going to join the second one too but then didn't post. *dunno*

Okay, with the goal being 24 and 12 players, I think the formats will be this:
Fire will have 16 competing in an initial preliminary round, with 8 players receiving Byes to the next round. I'm still debating over whether to assign byes randomly or intentionally, with players in the Firaga tournament receiving the Byes so that the newer players have more of a chance of winning a game. It'll be a straight knock out tournament.
Firaga is going to be like a football/soccer tournament! That's right, there will be a Chocobo Group, Moogle Group and a Tonberry Group. Each group will be like a league and will have four players in it. All four players will play against each other (So each player has three matches to play) with a point being earned for a win. The three winners of the groups will all make it to the semi-finals.
In the event of a tie, the group winner will be based on the head-to-head record between that player and the other one. So if BoB and I both win two games, but in our game I have beaten BoB, I will go through. The fourth semi-final spot will be occupied by the best runner up depending on points tally, cards for and against, and then maybe even a playoff if there are two even players.
I appreciate it sounds slightly complex but it's not! I'm really just trying to cover every little loophole right now. It'll make more sense when you see it, and I'll keep track of this anyway so you don't have to worry about it. The idea of making everyone play 3 games is so that the truly talented players will go through... plus you're all fanatics so you're meant to enjoy playing more games!
Fire! Don't think I'll do we'll at all in Firaga.

You have a level 8 card!
So play with L1 cards. What will you lose? A few L1 cards you can buy straight after? You'll gain a L6 card by participating, so... ;D

Just started playing this, and I have to say... It's really well implemented. Good job guys. It's gonna take years for me to catch up card-wise though.
How do you get gil anyway? Only had 17.
