Final Fantast XIV 1.x Finale!

The finale event for the current version of Final Fantasy XIV will officially commence this weekend: from Saturday, November 10 at 10:00 PM PST to midnight. The in-game location is Brittlebark, Mor Dhona. As part of the buildup, it has been announced that the game is now open to all Final Fantasy XIV account holders, regardless of subscription status.

The Lodestone has issued the following “clarion call” to all ready and available warriors to join in at Mor Dhona:

Adventurers of all races, origins, and creeds. Let it be known that the forces of the Eorzean Alliance, formed of the combined might of Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah, and Gridania, have presently left the wilds of Thanalan en route to the Carteneau Flats, there to engage in a decisive confrontation with the VIIth Imperial Legion of the Garlean Empire.

Yet this battle is but the means to an end, for the preservation of the realm from Dalamud is our true objective. Joining our host in the capacity of military tactician is Archon Louisoix, who shall helm the last-ditch effort to repel the descending lesser moon. To ensure the success of this mission—and the continued survival of all life upon Eorzea—it is imperative that the Garlean interlopers are put to rout.

Be fairly warned that the enemy is no less determined than we. Resolved to hold its ground, the VIIth Imperial Legion has reportedly summoned reinforcements from Castrum Novum in a move to consolidate its defenses. Should troops from the imperial stronghold be permitted to join the fray, our cause would be dealt a grievous blow. As such, we have dire need of courageous souls who would meet the auxiliary Garlean force in southern Mor Dhona and prevent its merging with the main host.

Our beloved Eorzea lies upon the brink of destruction, and she needs all of her champions to rise to her aid. And so we beseech you, the adventurers of the realm, to gather your strength! Join the battle, and fight to reforge the fate of Eorzea!

Shortly after the event, the next Letter from the Producer Live will be aired on Youtube. We’ll have updates on the new information from the live letter shortly thereafter.

So I realized I never included the timezone (PST) into the frontsite article of this, and the editor is being a bitch and won't save my changes (though I've done it before to previous articles). Can you add that in, Daniel?

I'm still an FF14 newbie and I'm currently in Limsa Lominsa. Do I have to find my way there by foot (not gonna happen) or is there another way to get there?

I'm probably too low a level to be of any use, but I wanna watch the moon crush everything. xD

For reference, everyone actually in Mor Dhona, an hour into the event, is still having trouble with rampant disconnections and receive rates of 0. The servers are not capable of handling this load of players. For most of us (myself included) this event is staring at a black loading screen interrupted by a blue error 13001 box.

Well that was a very underwhelming way to end the game. Extreme lag, regularly booted off and error screens saying I've timed out, even when im exiting the game. And to top it off, half of that end game video, although very cool, I had already seen because they are using it as a promo trailer.
Kinda feel like I was cheated out of an ending which I paid to see....oh well, back to bed for me.

Well that's lame. Here I was kicking myself for going to bed after going out last night, but it looks like I didn't miss much.
