obviously ff12
opinions?
12.
13 wasn't bad.
8 was ok.
9 was ok.
7 was meh.
Crisis Core was waaaay too awesome to even be included with the others. Seriously, nostalgia splosion and awesome graphics.
TWOTL was pretty neat
ten was cool, but not as good as 12
This post brought to you by the power of boobs. Dear lord them boobs. Amen
8 was great but i thought the actual title inclusion in the shock effect reel was lame
i think it's my second fave
I thought 12s was really drawn out and lame. It took quite a lot of exposition before you could actually start playing the game. The concept of the larger intro sequence I liked.
I think my vote has to go to FF7, but it is really a hard decision in a series that I identify with strong opening sequences.
And of course honorable mentions to FF13 and FF10 having intro FMVs that were the coolest parts of their games.

FFVIII by a mile - I've loved a fair few FF games but that's the one where I loved it from the moment I saw the opening sequence. Liberi Fatali is such a great piece of music.
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
A close call between FF VII and X, but I think X takes the cake. The zoom out on Midgar is awesome, but X's... the music is just amazing and I love that the game comes back to the very scene we witness. I kinda hate that you can't skip it though, cause when you first buy the game, of course you're gonna watch the Prelude, which is the exact same thing. Honorable mentions go to VI and VIII, VI's made a really good atmosphere while VIII's is just epic (although IMO it's inferior to the Prelude/Overture)
I think FF II's (Origins version) opening was pretty neat.
X followed by VIII for me. I found XII to be way too chock-full of cliches. :x
Having never played 10, is the intro just the 'Let me tell u my stori i might not get another chance lol' weapons in the hill reel with the sad piano music?
I'm guessing they're also including the Blitzball arena and the introduction of Sin and Auron as well?
"Excuse me Miss, do you like pineapple?"
I know I am.

Crisis Core, DoC, VIII, X 1st FMV was impressive to me, XI (I've only watched on YouTube), XII, XIII, XIV (YouTube)
Jack: How do you know?
Will: It's more of a feeling really.
Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?
Will: No.
If Demolition Man were remade today
Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: NO!
Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
Spartan: But Huxley.
Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
I'd completely forgotten what the opening to FFXII was like, which is further evidence that I really need to replay the game. It's quite good, but it's rather drawn out, as VeloZer0 said.
I'd say FFVIII hands down. It's not one of my favourite entries in the series by a long way, but it's definitely got my favourite opening. Liberi Fatali is an excellent piece of music, the opening is exciting and edgy and gives some tantalising hints of what's to come. It's probably one of the few openings that has made me genuinely excited about what is to come.
There's a certain nostalgia value attached to FFVII's opening, which I felt this evening when I started a new game and played for about an hour or so, and I love the rendition of Terra's theme at the start of FFVI, and so they deserve honourable mentions. FFX's opening FMVs are also still visually very impressive.
