DQ7 screens unveiled

Almost a month ago we caught wind of a remake of the seventh installment in the Dragon Quest series. The game was being remade from the ground up, with a complete graphical overhaul. The first screens from this 3DS remake have been released, showcasing the player characters, enemies and locations. And, honestly, they look much better than the original Dragon Warrior VII.

The 3DS isn't the most powerful machine on the market but it's the perfect platform for a remake of this Playstation classic. The Japanese release date is February 7 next year, but we're still awaiting confirmation on a Western release. Here's hoping!

Dragon Quest VII will continue Square Enix's focus on the StreetPass feature of the 3DS, offering fragmented tablets that can reveal hidden areas and treasure just by hanging out with other players.

They look good. I MIGHT pick this one up. I poured a ton of hours into the original (still have the save file), but I have not completed it. I should get around to that sometime.

I put over 120 hours into this game and could not beat it....... I'll be buying this again.
