Default Fun with the Luminous Engine

Square Enix hosted a live conference showcasing the power of its Luminous Engine, the tool behind the absolutely gorgeous Agni's Philosophy tech demo. While there are rumours that Agni's Philosophy might actually be a game, the engine itself is already proving to be super impressive. The video below shows parts of the tech demo being edited on the fly. I can't even comprehend how detailed all of this is. It's like playing with the Sims Creator except on steroids. Magical.

We'll be keeping our eyes on Agni's Philosophy and the Luminous Engine, because they're just too beautiful to look away!

It looks very impressive. I cannot help but wonder if these custom graphics engines programmed by Square Enix teams are one of the contributing factors to their slow turnaround time for games, though...
I believe in the power of humanity.

most 3d game engines nowadays allow on-the-fly variable editing, and i assume whoever recorded this has the computer power that making such edits look pretty is easier on them. i'm interested, but more interested to find out what kind of physics engine they have running in luminous. is that info out?

edit: i know what a pretentious post

They shared some slides from a presentation some of them in English:

They were running it on single GTX680 with 32GB of RAM.

Just a single GTX680? That's impressive, and good.

Tech demos like this make me feel all kinds of feelings. I want to touch it.
