By sheer coincidence I also started a game of Crystal recently, I'm slightly ahead of you (just beat Chuck), though my game is nowhere near as entertaining as yours. I miss Mareep thoughEspecially as I got Smoochum out of my egg and have no decent electric types.
Do you have a psychic pokemon at all? I might be wrong but I've not seen one at all yet. If their available, get a kadabra or even a drowsee or something.

that's cool, but I think I'm the only one actually doing a lets play on the game in the first place. Sounds like a good idea though if others start their own lets plays also.
Also sadly it looks like i was wrong about getting a Farfetch'd (with out cheating) in Crystal, so I'll need other suggestions or I'll just need to find some game shark cheats to get me one. >.>
