There's a reason why the only people who attempt it are Tibetan monks and ponces who want a pony waifu. But you were willing to attempt it for the greater good of your community.
You started out by sequestering yourself in a dark room and envisioning someone beside you. You imagined every detail about this new person: how they look, how they talk, how they act. You did this for an hour and then took a break because it's so emotionally exhausting. Physically exhausting, too, surprisingly enough.
But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, you got better at this. You could imagine your new companion for longer and with less effort. And you weren't the only one making improvements; the mental construct that you made was becoming more and more independent of you. It was taking on its own appearance and its own mannerisms. And it was becoming more difficult to control, too. Good, you thought to yourself after this latest session. It's almost time.
You have a stack of paper in your hands. EoFF has sent you a list of everything they require in the perfect companion. Much blood, sweat, and tears went into making this list. At least three people were banned over various disputes in it. But these were necessary casualties. How else was the perfect member going to be made?
You take the list and meditate on it. Then you lock yourself in your dark room for nearly 24 hours as you concentrate all of your remaining mental energy on imbuing your new life form with EoFF's wishes. Sometimes you wonder if you can't go on, but you force yourself to continue. For Final Fantasy. For Cid. For Raistlin. ...okay, maybe not for Raistlin.
You feel something in the corner of your brain, as though your mind is a piece of paper and someone is slowly tearing a piece away. It's painful and you clutch your chair in agony, but you remind yourself that this is all a part of the process. You wince and concentrate as hard as you can, and then as soon as it's begun it's all over. You've successfully done it. You've created a new being by force of will alone.
It's time to see who you created.
