    Unhappy Mysidian Tower trouble

    In my latest playthrough of Final Fantasy II, I entered the Mysidian Tower. I got to the Ice section, but then Maria, Guy, and Ricard died. Maria is the only one with the Life and Teleport spell, so, I do not know how to get out. I tried backtracking, though in the Fire section, I can't seem to go down...Will I have to restart the game? Or if I climb the whole tower with Firion, will I be transported out? Also, I can't restart from my last save, because I saved in the tower (idiot me...).
    EDIT: I grinded for a while, and Firion was strong enough to go through the tower himself! Once I got the Ultima tome, a portal appeared, so I was able to escape. Yay!

    tl;dr: How to get out of Mysidian tower without Teleport and only Firion?

    Hmm, maybe try your luck and flee every battle. Can't really say anything else. Maybe you have some teleportation stuff in your inventory?
