Japanese Omeletwith rice, or "Tamagoyaki with Omurice" (I think)

    Ingredients:

    2 Large eggs
1/2 cup short grain white rice
ketchup and/or tomato paste 1/2 cup
    cooking oil
    two pans
    one pot
    one bowl

    Optional:
    rice steamer
    diced onion 1/4 cup
    diced ham 1/4 cup

Start the rice cooking in the steamer or in one of the pots with some water. Set a pan on low-medium heat. A non-stick pan of some sort is a wonderful thing.
In a bowl, add your two eggs, and stir them together thoroughly. Now is a good time to add any seasonings like cayenne, garlic, etc, if you like that.

Poor the contents of the bowl into the pan that's on low-medium heat. Keep an eye one it.

In the other pan you can begin cooking your diced ham and/or onion if you decided to go for that.

Now it's probably time to flip the egg over. Make sure it looks cooked, and then flip it. A nice flat spatula in a big pan gives the best results.

Place the egg on a plate. Take the ketchup (and maybe ham and onion), and stir it into the now cooked rice. Add the rice on top of the egg, and fold the egg in half over it. Gently. Garnish with ketchup if you love ketchup. (Shlup)

    Enjoy!

I made completely ordinary meatloaf over the weekend.

    Recipe

    ACTIVATE!!!!!!

    You'll need

Loaf pan (they have disposable ones at grocery stores)
1 lb ground sirloin (the best MC, For the Shorties)
    3 tblspn Worchestire sauce
    2-3 tblspn Balsalmic Vinegar
    1/4 cup diced onion
1/4 cup diced bell pepper (I like red for color)
1 slice of white sandwhich bread (or a roll)
    2 eggs
Italian blend seasoning (however much you like)
    Bottle of ketchup
    vegetable oil
    Salt and pepper

Go ahead and preheat that oven to 350 degress F.

Tear your slice of bread in to pieces about the size of your thumbnail. Combine your sirloin, seasonings, eggs, bread, vinegar and Worchestire in the bowl, then mix it all very thoroughly. Some people like to add all ingredients at once, but I like to give the meat a chance to absorb all the seasoning and tenderizing agents before I add the vegetables.

Once it's blending together, and marinating, you can go ahead and dice your vegetables. Then take a napkin and your vegetable oil, and apply a very light coat of the oil on your baking pan.

Now you should be ready to add your diced vegetables. Work them into the mixture with your hands the same way. Place the mixture in the pan, making sure to keep it even and uniform in depth. This way it will bake more evenly. You'll need to bake the loaf for aprox. 50 minutes to an hour depending on your oven. You can occasionally check the loaf by poking into with a knife. It will let you see how thoroughly cooked it is. Around 10-15 minutes before you're ready to pull the loaf out, add a layer of ketchup to the top of the loaf. This helps seal in juices, so the loaf doesn't dry, and gives the ketchup a nice tangy flavor.

Once things appear cooked, serve and enjoy!
