While I'm inclined to go with true on this one, I think it's awfully suspicious that Formalhaut turned 17 in February, and the driving age in England is 17, and this was supposed to have happened a year ago.

So what's the real story?
As it happens, I can't drive, I've never met any cousins, and technically I've never actually spoken to a police officer. Both of Bleys's lies were for me, incredibly difficult for me to do, because it's so out of my area of knowledge! I have to say I'm rather pleased with myself given the difficulty of the messages.
By deliberately being very helpful on the first statement, then being helpful but questionably idiotic the next, I hoped to cause confusion. I didn't cause confusion, I actually caused agreement, which thankfully went in my favour!
I would have leveraged the hell out of the no license thing to explain the trouble with Johnny Law.
Fun fact: This lie is actually based on something that actually did happen to my father. 3 times in the same day at 3 different liquor stores, he got pulled over after leaving the parking lot because the cop saw him and thought he looked underage (he was, at the time). All 3 times it was the same cop, all 3 times he got his beer confiscated, and all 3 times he had a buddy in the back seat who had a lot of weed on him.
I could have, but I thought I'd go with the "insane axe murderer escaped from prison" tactic, because if your going to lie, you might as well lie big. Who knows, they might think the story so crazy, so implausible, they might just fall for it.
