Final Fantasy Vinyls

I don't know if anyone looks at 1UP very much, but they are having a contest right now where you write up a blog post about something to do with the music of Final Fantasy, and you will have the chance to win a copy of Final Fantasy Vinyls signed by Nobuo Uematsu himself. I wrote a long blog post up for it, but since I had never actually written anything on there before, my post was deleted as spam. Sad day.

Anyways, seeing that contest was the first I had heard about this vinyl collection of final fantasy music being released. As someone who has gotten into collecting vinyls lately, I thought this was pretty cool! Had anyone else heard about this?

I will say, I'm surprised at some of the songs missing on the list, but I still think it could be a fun thing to own.

Also, for the sake of discussion, does anyone have any particular fond memories you would like to share about a particular FF song/soundtrack? I may post on here the post 1UP had deleted.

Definitely want FF music on vinyl but it will probably be super expensive and I doubt I'll win the contest :<

Yeah, J-E-N-O-V-A is substantially better than OWA (in fact, it's one of the best songs Uematsu ever wrote), but OWA is inexplicably more popular.

Yeah, it isn't the best selection of songs. There are some good ones on there, but there is a lot of good stuff missing as well. I think this is really cool in concept, though. It would make a great collector's item.

With way better sound quality than CDs usually have these days, yes. Vinyl sales have been increasing pretty rapidly over the past several years, so it's not surprising that Square Enix wants to get in on the action.
