My mom put this near the front door for good luck.
(SPOILER)
We also have 8 pieces each of 8 kinds of fruit. And lot of round/spherical foods O_o
What does everyone else do on New Years for tradition or good luck.. or anything?

What is that, rice and a stick?
I have no New Years traditions. It used to be watching the ball drop on television while eating Pizza Hut, but I've lost interest in both honestly.
I like to utter profanities as the clock strikes midnight so that I am the first and last person to swear in each year. And no, I don't give the slightest of smurfs about timezones.
I post at EoFF.
No tradition for me. Someone want to recommend me one?

No traditions that I don't think anyone else doesn't have - cheers and kisses!

My family watches the ball drop and has snacks through the night so I used to do that with them. Now I either go to Andrew's friends' party where we watch the ball drop, sing karaoke, drink, and eat snacks, or his family has a little party where everyone brings snacks and watches the ball drop. Either way, I get my New Year's kiss every year now
Me and my fam all watch Jools Holland or something and have wine and eat ourselves into a coma.
Working. If I'm not working usually have a few friends over and we get drunk whilst playing Monopoly or something or just watch the TV as the local booze establishments aren't entertaining places to be on New Years.
Usually working though as it's more often than not a weekday.
This year I'll actually be working at midnight but managed to convince our manager to let us all have a glass of bubbly to celebrate the new year in which is very nice of them.
