Happy New Years Eyes on FF!
It's the new year today. 2013 is finally here! But let's not forget 2012.
This past year has been one of the best on this site in many of its long running years. Square Enix has been giving us the thumbs up: sending us posters, mentioning us in tweets and on their facebook. We held the poster giveaway contest that brought back many of our beloved members as well as graced us with some new ones. With the help of members here on the forums and Pike's help on twitter and facebook we were able to give out all the posters! We were one happy community with all our pretty Amano posters! Final Fantasy XIII-2 Came out this past year and although we visited SE for a first look late 2011 we did hold a giveaway for our members for a collectors edition early in 2012! DMKA won it! Two giveaways in one year! That's pretty lovely for our members. Who knew posting on an internet forum could get you free stuff?
We've created a community art group on Deviantart which helped create our first FF fan art contest! Those artist helped us out to make our 25th anniversary Final Fantasy Ciddies a definite hit. Loony BoB pulled them in to help out with his hard work to make it an event to remember. They spruced it up with beautiful art work and made the whole event feel more complete. Speaking of our members, they worked really hard this year in an attempt to join our staff! Even though only a few made it through, it was an amazing ride and made some bonds with those who would have never had them before! Teamwork! Our Next Cid's Knight contest gave us the new CK's Vivi22 and Shorty as well as the new editors Goldenboko and Milliegoesbeep! Maybe our next one will let you join our ranks!
That's just what happened on the forums! Our frontsite has been a bustling place of activity. Raistlin's been keeping us up to date on all things happening with the rebirth of Final Fantasy XIV. Agent Proto, being the founder of the EoFF DeviantArt group, has been making us a bit more classy every week with his art showcase! If there was anything happening in FF news, Jiro had you covered. But that's not all! Members have been helping produce content on a regular basis and have been featured too! Such as Yar's Final Fantasy 25th anniversary Walkthrough or Lockharted's Spotlight on Vivi after he won best character during our FF Ciddies! And that's just a few that have recently been posted!
Our Theartrhythm section is getting done at lightning speed thanks to Goldenboko's efforts to recruit members such as Faris, Formalhaut, and Shauna. Red Mage Coffman and The Man are working on finishing the Dissidia Section and if you can help feel free to jump in! There are many things you can help out with if you have time. Heck if you write a thread about how much a certain character is amazing, you might be able to get it promoted! You just have to ask in our "Please promote!" Thread. If you ever have any ideas for articles don't hesitate to mention it in our site contributions area! Look how many people have been able help out this past year just because of that section.
We have had an amazing year in 2012. It had amazing events, amazing discussions, and amazing members. You are what makes Eyes on FF. You made 2012 amazing and we can only get better in time. So here's to a new year that will be filled with our amazing community. We did a lot in 2012 but we're not done yet. There's much more to come! Welcome to the new year! It's going to be a fun ride!
