This game has some of the best music I've ever heard.

Like, besides in the Final Fantasy series; the best music I've ever heard.

Even the themes for the random battles are just spectacular.

Trisection is my favorite Battle Theme. I also really like Ovelia's theme and the sadder alternate version.

He's definitely one of if not my favorite composer(s). He tends to use a lot of the same instruments over the course of the same work, but FFXII, Valkyria Chronicles I & II, FFTactics and Tactics Ogre could any day of the week be my 5 favorite RPGs and he's a big reason why.

I like his music but Sakimoto is kind of like John Willaims to me, outside a few tracks I feel his music style never really changes from game to game so if I listen to his works its hard to figure out if I'm listening to FFXII, FFTactics, Breath of Fire V, or Vagrant Story.

My favorite tracks in FFTactics is actually the Staff Roll

You think he stole a lot of his most famous works? Sorry, I know it's more complicated than that, but geez, he stole a lot of music. It's pretty much what first comes to mind when I think of him.

Followed by how good a job he tends to do expanding on the base piece.

I've never cared for John Williams too much so I could care less if he's a thief. I just find that outside of a few tracks in each score he composes, the rest of it is interchangeable.

While I'm particularly fond of the opening theme, and I commend him for the sweeping atmospheric sound of his works, I can't really say much of his music stands out to me.

A few other songs that I absolutely adore include The Climax of the Graylands Incident, Vagrant Story's Staff Roll and the Clan Headquarters theme from FFXII.

EDIT: Actually, the more of his music I listen to without worrying about my characters (ie, actually playing the game), the more I appreciate his works.

My favorite battle theme from the game is titled "Heretics" on my translation of the soundtrack. It plays when you fight against Gafgarion alongside Delita to save Princess Ovelia and when you fight alongside Rafa to fend off Marquis Elmdore.
