Boco Am I the only person who feels Krile is a Mary Sue?

I mean come on! She's a princess, has magic without the jobs, owns a Wind Drake and a Moogle, can communicate with animals, saves the party countless times, overshadows any unique traits Lenna has, is more gung-ho and gutsy than Faris, is universally loved by the whole playable cast, and often leads the party after Galuf is gone. I can't be the only one who noticed this.

Yeah, I never took FF V seriously enough Story wise to be that bothered by this.

That's very true, now that I think about it. I need to play FFV again, though now this will likely bug me.

    Uhm, no. Not really.

She gets tortured by Ex- Death within a ball of flames, she looses her Grandpa there's no mentioning of her parents and she doesn't win over Bartz and she's too young for that.

    So no.

I thought that she was really brave sticking to Ex-Death like that and she does screw up. If she was a Mary- Sue she would of damaged Ex-Death severally or even killed him and she didn't.

Faris and Lenna are Princesses too.

Being victimized does not diminish one's Mary Sue status.

But Mary Sue means that one is perfect right ? Screwing up, loosing your Grandfather and loosing your parents is not perfect.

No, its not just being perfect its also about overshadowing and being more special than the rest of the characters, it can mean different things and often writers will give Sue's traumatic events and backstories because they bring focus back to them.

I can't see how losing one's grandfather has anything to do with "not being perfect".
That almost implies that a perfect person should be able to keep everyone and everything that (s)he cares for alive for eternity, which is obviously absurd.

But sure, losing to ExDeath might be a valid point concerning one's lack of a Mary Sue status.
