As for location specifics, I love the Magitek Factory tune from FFVI because it actually sounds like the factory is making most of the music.

[The Man]

"Slum Shuffle". It's the theme to Zozo, and it's one of the most absurdly catchy themes in the entire Final Fantasy series. It also does a marvellous job establishing the atmosphere of the town.

"Terra" is also really great, as has been explained above.

Also, from FFX, "Silence Before the Storm", which I suspect is really high on my list because it is a gorgeous tribute to '70s progressive rock. However, it is a fantastic piece on its own merits, regardless.

There are likely other tracks that belong on this list; if I think of them I will add them later.
