Lurv me some QOTSA. Still processing ...Like Clockwork. It's so bluesy. Hardly any legit rocking on it at all, but some of it is sooo beautiful, I'll forgive them for now. If I need to rock out I've still got SFTD.

Man, so far the albums I was looking forward to have all been underwhelmingly mellow.

The new Cold War Kids kills it on the first two tracks, but then stumbles and never quite recovers throughout the record.

The new Vampire Weekend sounds a little whiny for my tastes and the songs tend to drag on. Even a song like 'Step' that has an amazing start fails to uphold my attention after the 2-minute mark and while 'Diane Young' contains the only part of the album where the band sounds like it is having fun (the crazy solo's) I can't ignore that the chorus sounds like a distorted George Michael song.

The new Features album 'This Disorder' is also pretty mellow compared to their feisty blues/rock predecessor Wilderness and I'm not sure if I'm digging the 80's sound. After a couple listens not too many songs stuck and I miss the guitars

I still have high hopes for the new Tea Leaf Green, Dr. Dog (if that's coming this year) and for MGMT (though it's best not to get my hopes up for that one because who the smurf knows what they're cooking up).

And luckily Public Service Broadcasting debuted with a phenomenal instrumental/sample-lyrics record:

It's definitely different from the sound they've been using (my favorite album of theirs would probably be their first or Lullabies) but I still dig their new songs. The only thing I'm not a fan of are the animated videos...they creep me out.

Whoops, I'm skewing this into a hype thread instead of a "post music" thread.

I've been enjoying the new Killswitch Engage album. It's weird having Jesse Lynch back, though since I've become so use to Howard. Killswitch Engage - Beyond the Flames W/ lyrics - YouTube

Super anxious for Against Me!'s Transgender Dysphoria Blues album to be released this year, and I can't wait to experience all of the blood, sweat and tears that were put into making it.

Pentatonix ft Lindsey Stirling - Radioactive (Imagine Dragons cover)
I love this song and the collab of these people just blew my socks off... That plus Lindsey Stirling is smoking hot and crazy good with a violin

Another one that has been stuck in my head and i cant help but enjoy is

There'll be a new Nine Inch Nails album later this year.

Icona Pop is glorious. I listened to their EP on repeat. Some of their songs remind me of Mario Brothers music.

Danielle loves that one song of theirs, I haven't heard anything else by them yet, though.
