David Bowie - Where Are We Now?

First new material in ten years and I'm so excited for the rest of the album. I'm not super loving this song right now, but I'll give it a few more listens. It's not terrible, but it's not great.

Alkaline Trio is supposedly releasing an album this year, but their last few albums have been non-genius so I won't hold my breath for anything great. Rilo Kiley, however, is almost done with their 2013 album and I am so excited that I cannot contain myself

Bringing back this thread for some things I'm looking forward to!

First of all, new Cold War Kids in a couple days. Stream the full album here:
'Dear Miss Lonelyhearts': Cold War Kids Return With New Concept Album (EXCLUSIVE STREAM)
    First two tracks are killer.

Then there's the new MGMT album in June I believe. Wasn't too fond of Congratulations but who knows what these goofs are cooking up.

Dr. Dog is once again in the studio and they're usually pretty quick with their releases. I'm guessing the new record will appear before the end of the year.

And now for the big one: Arcade Fire is working on their fourth and rumour says it'll be released late this year. Hyped.

Probably my most anticipated release of 2013 - Neon Neon's Praxis Makes Perfect. I'm giving the second most hype to YYY, even if they use a gospel choir. Suck it! All good artists experiment and evolve.

Good stuff so far this year from Nick Cave, Billy Bragg, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tegan & Sara, My Bloody Valentine and Ben Harper.

This is my friend Anna, and her band I Love You Avalanche is about to release their debut album, Fiction. You should listen to it, it's quite lovely.

oh my god, I heard that YYY song a little while ago using the gospel choir. I love it! It's a nice new mix for their sound while still sounding like the old YYY. god bless Karen O.

Haha, I've heard some really awful things about it, but I like it!

And before I forget, THE JULIE RUIN, QOTSA, DAFT PUNK, and THE KNIFE, DURR.

Whoops, I'm skewing this into a hype thread instead of a "post music" thread.

Here, have some Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Into The Sun to make up for it

Especially love this song from the year so far:

From Avantasia's just released album, it features prog metal mastermind Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Guilt Machine) on guitar.

Stratovarius's release last month was superb as well, some fantastic symphonic elements in there and some progressive elements too! So much win!

Saxon's new album was also superb too, a fine display of Traditional British Heavy Metal, showing the world that at one point there was Heavy Metal coming from these shores that really set the stage in a veil of gold for all to see its might and its glory!

    LET THE HAMMER FALL
