Does it taste like that weird (no offense) artificial banana found in candies (e.g. Runts, Hi-Chew) or is it actually legit banana - like the actual fruit - flavor?

Vanilla. Plain and simple.
It depends on the brand and quality of the product, but if you can, always try to get the one with chunks of real banana in it. Trust me, it is delicious.
