First person shooters. They all seem the same to me. Other than Team Fortress 2 because hats and confetti.

    Shorty's opinion

    Ouch!'s opinion

    Reality television (particularly Survivor)
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

You act like this show has been culturally relevant in the past 11 years.

It's overly girly-looking dudes in poorly-written and often downright abusive relationships.

My parents watch. I live in a cramped apartment with them. Only relevance required... until I can afford to move out.

I'm actually with Laddy on this one. I don't mind gay relationships or if you want to ship two male characters together in a relationship if you believe that they have that sort of chemistry, but Yaoi anime and manga in general is almost always abusive and heads down into rape territory.

A couple of Yaoi anime's I've watched the more dominate male basically puts the weaker male into uncomfortable sexual situations that would throw a real life person in jail. In one Yaoi the poor male was crying and feeling upset so the dominate male just basically threw the weaker male down and put his hand down inside pants and touched his " you know " and basically raped him. And then we are supposed to believe that this is romantic and passionate ??!

    No, just no.

Who's saying it has to be romantic and passionate? Some people just have rape fantasies and in yaoi, they can get that!

Yaoi is written for straight women by straight women and represents little of what actual gay relationships are like. In the end, they tend to objectify and oversimplify gay relationships to a degree.

Yes, it's a fantasy. I get that, but it's not emphasized enough that it doesn't represent any healthy relationships.

EDIT: They aren't portrayed as rapist and victim, though. These relationships are often portrayed as a pair of star-crossed lovers and an ideal romance to aspire to.

You only need to read thecloudyday89's blog entries to see how rapey Yaoi is.
