Default Official PC Benchmark Released for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Square-Enix has just released the new official benchmark software for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Wonder how well FFXIV will play on your computer? Go to the benchmark website, download the software, and find out! The website also includes instructions on how to download and launch the benchmark software.

The software uses actual maps and characters and assigns your computer a score based on how well it runs through the software’s contents. Under 1,000 means your computer cannot play FFXIV, whereas over 9,000 7,000 means that your computer can easily handle the highest settings of the game.

Based on previous info from the development team, if your computer could handle FFXIV 1.0, it should also be able to run FFXIV: ARR. But I’m sure people will still rest easier knowing for certain!

Got 3,400 on the default setting, 2,400 when I increased the resolution a bit. Not bad for a HP laptop.

I scored 6,199 with all the settings turned up to max, so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Over 9000 with all settings at max, but on 1280x720 resolution. Once I bump that up to 1920x1080 resolution, it goes down to around 6,000. The benchmark just makes me want this so badly - my body is ready!

Yeah, for clarity my score of 6,199 was running at 1600 x 1024. If I bumped it up to 1920 x 1200, I fell drastically to mid 4,000s range with everything on max.

    Max Settings, Resolution @ 1280x720: 5768
    High Settings, Resolution @ 1920x1080: 4028

I am happy with this though with my tax return might buy a new, better GPU.

1600x1000 (my screen res is 1680x1050) at max settings gave me 4,400 or something, which it said is 'High' and should run everything at max settings. There were no problems with the benchmark, very fluid, so I'm pretty happy. Danielle with a similar PC to mine got it running at a higher resolution and it gave her 4,300 or so.

I ran the benchmark with the default settings on a 3.5-year-old laptop and received a 1700 score. If even that's capable of running the game, I think most people here are ok.

My screen res is max 1600x900 (*might* get a new monitor ) so my results are all with 1280x720.

    My Medium score - 8225
    My High score - 5483
    My Extreme score - 3604

System: (3+ year old Dell Studio XPS which ran XI and 1.0 just fine)

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130104-1431)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
    8183.117MB
    NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240(VRAM 494 MB) 8.15.0011.8627

I will be changing my power supply to 650 to accommodate switching my 240 card to a 560. Will this be a great improvement?

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650(VRAM 4042 MB) 9.18.0013.0697

And yes Lumos, you will notice a world of difference. I have a Dell computer myself that I upgraded, so I know your pain with the power supply (had to upgrade to a Corsair TX750), took me like 3 hours trying to cram it in the tower and hook everything up. On another note anyone else notice how the CPU doesn't really get used in this benchmark. Mine never spiked above 20% and for the most part stayed in the 11-15% range.

3600 at max settings, 1920x1080. 4200 with medium shadows and medium ambient occlusion. I feel pretty all right about that as well.

Ultimate Settings got me 3545 at 1900x1200 and I didn't actually notice any stuttering. I'll probably put it on High, just because I got 5000 with it.

There's something wrong with this picture... You should be getting at least double the score with those specs, make sure you turn on occlusion culling (not sure why this isn't on by default, nor why you can even turn it off).

You'll also find the i7's aren't really utilized by games as well as an i5, neither is the 12GB of RAM. But by no means should it make your performance any lower.

yeah man. I got a higher score on a GTX460 1GB and C2Q at 3.2GHz. Honestly though, just turning down graphics a tiny bit, I become CPU-limited.

Unless, of course, GTX650 is a mobile GPU with shared RAM.
