Fruit or vegetable?
ribbons guys, ribbons.
It is next to the zucchinis and eggplant at Safeway. It is a vegetable, goddamnit.
gourd damn this is a dumb thread
from a biological standpoint, fruit. seeds on the inside, not a seed itself (like a vegetable).
from a culinary standpoint, vegetable. like a tomato. (which is a fruit).
end
of
thread.
In Australia it's a drink. "Lemon squash" or just "squash" is the common term for what peeps in North America would call lemonade.... and what Aussie's call "lemonade" is Sprite to North Americaners.
Did my head in when I first started.
i cook it with my vegetables and don't eat it out of the smurfing crisper like fruit.

I don't think I have ever had squash so I can't even participate in this thread because I've totally forgotten what it is
It's concentrated fruit juice.
Robinson's Fruit & Barely is the best squash.
Discuss.
The only time I saw squash was in a multilingual adaptation of Midsummer Night's Dream as the donkey's man bits. So that's what it is to me.

Horrible either way. Whoever thought of turning this into food? Savages.
