Kilpatrick - Somewhat
Some kind of dressing - Eh, depends
Mornay - No.
Those are the only kinds that I've had, and the oysters really can't be too large and have to be very fresh.
There are tons of different kinds of oysters with different salinity levels, so it really depends. You might not like a certain oyster (if it is too salty) but might like a different kind.
Love them, fresh with lemon and salt.. you can see the poor oyster squirming as the salt and lemon hit it. Mwahahaha
no no no no and no
why are there so many goshdang threads about seafood i don't like it stop it now
Oh I need to add that to my list of things I don't like. Oysters.
Signature by rubah. I think.
I haven't tried them. This is one of those things that I'm less inclined to try, even though I love trying new things... too many people have described it as "like eating phlegm" that I get the feeling I'd vomit it back up if I had a go. :S
I don't really have many opportunities to try it, mind you. Maybe if it was free, in front of me and I had the right mood I'd give it a go. But I'd definitely need something to spit it back into ready for use...
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
I used to hate oysters. They were slimy and not really flavorful aside from a general ocean-y taste and also they're smurfing EXPENSIVE. It's like, $18 for a half dozen. Nuts!
But I would try them occasionally here and there. And the more I ate, the more I wanted to eat. And now when I see them on menus, I have this strange urge to order them. I have a feeling they have some sort of addictive quality to them, because everyone I know who loves oysters can't stop eating them. It's like pringles. You can't stop at just one. They're really really good with a citric vinaigrette. Or a shot of tabasco. Yum.
