Old text for start of the contestWhat's this!?
Welcome to the third of hopefully many themed FanArt contests of Eyes on Final Fantasy! After the Final Fantasy Ciddies, we had really positive feedback from both artists and fans, particularly about how enjoyable it was to create/view Final Fantasy FanArt with a theme! Some artists, however, noted that they wished they had more time than 1-2 weeks to work on their pieces... with this in mind, we at EoFF have decided to build on all that and create a monthly themed contest with a little prize up for grabs, too.

So how does it work?
The plan is to run this to a schedule every month and get as many artists from EoFF and DeviantArt as possible involved in it. A theme will be announced roughly a month before the closing date for submissions. People will submit their artwork to webmaster@eyesonff.com. Once the final day for submitting artwork passes, the various pieces of art will be showcased at EoFF and then voting carried out by Eyes on Final Fantasy members.

What will the winner get?
The winner this month will receive a month's premium membership at DeviantArt or, if they would prefer it, they can receive DeviantArt points instead, or even request the premium membership go to someone else of their choosing! I know it's not a huge prize, but it's coming out of the pocket of EoFF members such as myself and it's hopefully going to be every month... oh, and if you want to sponsor a month, let me know! You will even get to pick the theme for that month (so long as it's suitable for these forums).

You mentioned a theme?
As you can see, the theme for the month of April will be Game Invaders, where FF characters 'turn up' in other games! Ensure all your artwork is themed to both Final Fantasy and Game Invaders, which means you could have Ifrit vs. Blanka in Street Fighter II, Minwe running through the sands of Journey, Team Rocket trying to capture a Moogle or even Umaro shooting hoops in NBA Jam!

How fast do I need to work?
The due date for this month will be 24th April 2013 - so you have around three weeks!

I bet there are rules, huh?
You know me too well. Here's everything you should need to know... be sure to check this over, artists! Hopefully most of it is obvious, but there are some bits that might not be.
- Artwork should fit the chosen theme, and should feature a clear Final Fantasy influence such as characters/creatures/monsters/summons/etc. Not all of them at once, of course. Just something that shows that it is Final Fantasy FanArt!
- Artwork should be clean (no porn, no hentai, nothing crude).
- Artwork should be your own creation - so please ensure you don't copy/paste/edit existing work, and instead make something from scratch. Digital and traditional artwork are both acceptable!
- For now, I'm going to allow up to three entries per person, so if you want to do three pieces of art, that's fine!
- Artwork should be emailed to webmaster@eyesonff.com before the due date. Please include your username at EoFF and/or DeviantArt!
- Please do not make your artwork public before the due date (so don't post it into this thread or onto DeviantArt). You can post your artwork wherever you wish after the due date. The intention is to keep the revelation of the artwork a surprise.
- After the due date, the submitted art will be revealed at EoFF along with the theme for April. I'll also be posting a new journal entry for the DeviantArt group.
- Voting will last for about a week and will take place at EoFF. The winner will be declared on the last day of the month, along with instructions on how to claim your prize.
