This food thread has been nice and all, but I feel like it's lacking... something. it's lacking a semi-viscous condiment that is loved throughout the world! I'm talking about...

Sauces And Dips

I'm talking about:

- Hummus!!!
- Ketchup!
- Mayonnaise!
- Mustard!
- Gravy Sauce
- Barbeque Sauce!!
- Sour Cream & Chive
- Salsa!!!
- Seven Layer Dip!
- Wasabi!
- Hoisin Sauce!!! (Duck pancakes...)
- Pesto!

I admit, that's a rather large list of some of my favourite sauces (with the exception of gravy, wasbabi, sour cream). The others I all love. But I digress, what are your favourite sauces/dips and what do you eat with them?

As I'm typing this, I'm enjoying low-fat peri-peri hummus with Doritos. Mmmm....

And don't tell me you do not know of hoisin sauce. Do you not eat duck pancakes?

No idea what the actual difference is And I am not a chef; I'm a cook! Big DIFFERENCE.

Hummus is chickpea puree and tahini that is then seasoned and such. Totally tasty.

Also, Pike saying ketchup is gross is proof that she's a robot!

Here's a recipe for one, though really you can get them damn near everywhere. It's one of the classic chinese dishes, seriously, type "duck pancake" into google. Go on, I'll wait.



See? Classic! Everyone's talking about it or writing their own recipes. And that's also where hoisin comes in. Trust me, it's the food of the gods!
