My mom used to cut off the outer parts of the toes to avoid talons and other discomforts. She would then wash the feet and then boil them with some pandan or plain salted water. You can rinse them off with some water, and just deep fry them.
The feet would need to be thoroughly washed and boiled.
I've seen what chickens, even free-range, walk around in.![]()
There's a Filipino dish called Chicken Adobo, which can be made with chicken feet. It is extremely tasty and it was always a treat when my mom had the time to make it.

That's one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen in my life.
You guys never had chicken feet dim sum? I can eat an entire bowl by myself.
Come on guys! This is to die for food!

I'd try it.
Signature by rubah. I think.
Why would I want to eat their feet?
This is just horrendous.
Chinese people love chicken feet. So as to not be rude at dinner gatherings, I always try it when it's offered. It's not really horrible, but it's just...not very good, either.
I don't mean the taste. Living in China means that you will end up eating every part of every animal at some point or another. The nice thing about chickens is that, well, pretty much everything tastes like the same chicken we all know and love*. What is not constant is the texture of each part, and I'm not a fan of the foot texture. It's so damn gristly and it's a lot of work for a small amount of meat. I've tried worse things here, absolutely, but I'm not going out of my way to order chicken feet at my local Hunan restaurant.
* The same certainly cannot be said for beef. Beef stomach looks like something out of a horror movie and tastes like what farts smell like
with my known aversion to feet in the first place. I genuinely skimmed this thread literally having to choke back my own vomit because it was that disgusting.
I personally vote for this topic being deleted and the subject of eating feet, animal or otherwise NEVER be mentioned again. Ever!
No, we will keep this thread here as a punishment to Chris. Let him be judged on his transgressions until the end of time.
