    Default Vagrant Story Art Exhibit

vagrant.jpgNow I'm going to go out on a whim here and say that many of you lovely readers are familiar with the game Vagrant Story. I mean, you're all quite nerdy - being on a Final Fantasy forum and all, and well, this game is from a time when gaming was quite possibly at it's finest, or at least getting there.

Released in 2000, Vagrant Story is a single-player action RPG adventure game, chronicling the adventure of Ashley Riot, an elite Riskbreaker agent in the kingdom of Valendia. The game received positive reviews, and is a great non-Final Fantasy game in the repertoire of Square.

Why is this important? It is important because Square Enix have now released an art exhibit featuring the work of Yasumi Matsuno's Vagrant Story. It will be shown at the Square Enix cafe, Artnia - which just last month had a wonderful Final Fantasy VIII exhibit.

Now as well as being able to see the artwork, visitors to the cafe can also enjoy some themed drinks, like a Riskbreaker (non-alcoholic mix with soda, mint, and a sweet & sour base) and a Leá Monde (alcoholic drink made of cassis, white wine, grenadine, soda, lemon, and mint).

I think this is an absolutely lovely idea, and something I'd like to see more of. With this little treasure of an exhibit, and the recent Amano exhibit, I'd say that Square Enix are onto a winner... Now if only they'd start doing them outside of Japan...

Artnia is located in Tokyo's Shinjuku Eastside.

Foreshadowing maybe? are they going to do something else with my beloved Vagrant Story? If they pull a Third Birthday, I will personally drive to El Segundo and just lay on my horn.

    That would be awesome.

The themed drinks sound pretty good!

Whenever I hear about this game is generally in a positive way. You'll think that Square would have come out with a sequel or a port of some sort by now. Wouldn't mind trying out some of those drinks, either.

I wonder if all the alcoholic drinks incorporate wine?

I'm seriously wondering now, they just released the OST on iTunes. I want you to know this game has gotten more attention from SE in the past week than in the last 13 years since its release.

The Tactics team did mention that after they finished FFTactics:WotL, they were interested in going back to Vagrant Story, so maybe this is what they've really been up to since the Tactics Ogre remake.
