Rooster Teeth · RWBY Episode 6
Rooster Teeth · RWBY Episode 8

Questions have arisen as to whether Glinda is somehow related to that witch on the chopper. I doubt it... she apparently wears glass slippers (at least they clink like glass) which is just a bag of mixed messages. Her design contains a lot of diamonds (earrings, anklet, the sleeves of her dress) and she has a tattoo that looks like a pair of wings outlining a heart. Her dress is red and her hair is black and she wears a choker. Not that any of this necessarily offers any hint as to her inspiration as I don't really see any allusions in Glinda's design that would hint at Glinda of Oz.

There's a lot of speculation about the characters' correlation to fairytales. Ruby (RRH) and Weiss (Snow) seem blunt enough. Blake Belladonna is believed to be the Beauty to Adam's Beast. Also reflects heavily on the Thief's Apprentice. Yang (Goldilocks). Melanie and Miltiades from the same trailer are thought to be included to either represent the Rose Red/Snow White alternate fairy tale or the characters Odette and Odile (identical twins from Swan Lake) but Miltia is in fact the original design for Weiss.

In the first episode, we have Roman Torchwick, an expy of Candlewick/Lampwick from Pinocchio though he looks a helluva lot like Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Glynda Goodwitch and Ozpin are freakin' obvious. The crimson dress has been suggested to be Cinderella due only to the "glass" slippers. She could be Theodora (Wicked Witch of the West) or Evanora/Dorothy (both wearers of the Silver/Ruby Slippers). I ignored the initial look of recognition Glynda gives the witch and speculated she could be a genderbend of Jafar who also dresses in red (mostly black but switches to red as a genie) and wields fire. It was laughed off by some until I reminded that vomit-boy was a genderbend. It is suspected that his team is composed of genderbends: Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos, and Ren are thought to be genderbends of Thor, Ares, and Hua Mulan respectively.

There are two new characters in Episode 4 not officially introduced (neither named nor voiced) but shown in full-detail. I've named them Mosshas a mohawk and wears attire that is moss-green and the other Nickelfull-armor if minus a helmet and gloves. The eagle on his armor makes me think Galahad from Arthurian legend. (both also seem to lack weapons). Of course, it's possible these characters are the first of many designed but unnamed characters whose only purpose is to be some kind of driving force (a la damsel) or obstacle (e.g. the load) for the four mains and four minors.

Episode 5 has recently supplied the characters' first encounter with the newly designed Beowolves whom I'm hoping are only a secondary type because I much prefer the Beowolves featured in Ruby's Red trailer... may just be me.

I've officially begun to compare Jaune Arc to Naruto Uzumaki.

    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
